Expert Human-Based Assesssment

These days, most applicant and employee assessments are computer-based and scored using algorithms. However, there are times when humans should be involved in the assessment process, and it is best when they are trained assessment experts. This is where we can step in and help you assess the quality of your final candidates.

Our standard assessments use short role-play exercises with expert assessors (experienced organizational psychologists). These exercises help our clients see how candidates will behave in tricky workplace situations.

We have role-play assessments based on these general roles:

  • Director

  • Manager/team leader

  • Sales

  • Legal assistant/paralegal

  • Construction/project manager (new!)

Regardless of role, the assessment takes only one hour of the candidate’s time, including preparation and a short debrief interview. Most of this time will be on a Zoom call with the expert assessor.

Assessment results are presented to the hiring organization as a short report. These reports describe the candidate’s behavior during the exercise and the implications for their behavior as a future employee. Reports use role-relevant competencies to structure the feedback. This feedback differs from information from a computerized assessment because it is based on actual candidate behavior. Candidate reports will be available within three business days of completion of the exercise.

    • We will review and audit your overall hiring process. This includes evaluating current tests and assessments for quality, validity, and legal compliance. We have created the review and audit report to be straightforward and helpful to your hiring processes. Note that this typically involves working through your legal team.

  • Custom assessment development

    • For some jobs, crucial knowledge or skill areas are not covered by standard tests that are provided by other test providers. In these cases, developing a new test or assessment is required, and we can support you every step of the way. When we help develop a new assessment, we can ensure that it is “job content valid.”

  • Validation of assessments

    • Your applicant and employee tests should always be developed well. However, there are several situations where additional evidence of test quality and job relevance is needed. We will guide you on the methods of validation and provide the right level of documentation to comply with current laws and regulations.

Working with Us

Fixed Price Projects

All assessments are conducted using our fixed-price rates. In addition, larger consulting projects are often billed using fixed-price contracts which we will agree upon before any work is done. The process involves a standard work proposal and agreement prior to work being done.

Hourly Rate

Certain types of work can be done in a short timeline and can be completed in a relatively small amount of hours. If this is the case, just billing by the hour with monthly invoices is the easiest way to work with us. But don’t worry, our hourly rates are much lower than the larger consulting firms.

Monthly Membership

Some companies find the cost certainty of a monthly membership to be appealing. By providing a small monthly membership fee, we can offer some services more quickly and with discounted rates. These include reduced rates on conducting human-based assessments, assisting with hiring decisions, and assessment vendor selection.
